Helene Fischer (born 5 August 1984)[1] is a German singer, entertainer, television presenter and actress. Since her debut in 2005 she has won numerous awards, including seventeen Echo awards, four "Die Krone der Volksmusik" awards and three Bambi awards. According to record certifications she has sold at least 15 million records.[2] In June 2014, her multi platinum 2013 album Farbenspiel became the legally most downloaded album by a German artist of all time.[3]

Helene Fischer was born in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk, Russia,[1] (then the Soviet Union) to Peter and Marina Fischer. Her father worked as a physical education teacher and her mother as an engineer. Her paternal grandparents were Black Sea Germans[4] who were among those sent to forced settlements in Kazakhstan and Siberia.[1] In 1988, at the age of three and a half, she emigrated with her parents and her six-year older sister to Wöllstein, Rhineland-Palatine, West Germany.[5][6]

After graduating from school, Helene Fischer attended the Frankfurt Stage & Musical School for three years, where she studied singing and acting.[7] During this time, Helene performed on stage at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, as well as on the stage of the Volkstheater Frankfurt [de]. Since May 2008 she has been dating Florian Silbereisen who is also very popular in Germany, in December 2018 the couple split. In October 2011 Fischer was presented with her own wax figure in the Berlin Madame Tussauds museum. In 2018 her wax figure was redone.
